Fire at Shyampur sandal recycling factory under control

DHAKA, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) - A fire broke out in a sandal recycling factory in the city's Shyampur area early this morning and was brought under control.

The fire originated in a sandal recycling factory, Majumder Traders, at plot 14 on road no 6, Shyampur BSIC area, Kadamtali around 5am today, media wing officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Md Anwarul Islam told BSS.
    
After receipt of information, seven fire engines from Postogola, Sutrapur and Siddiqbazar rushed to the place of occurrence at 5:8am and brought the fire under control over two hours of frantic efforts at 7:18am today, he said.

He confirmed that there was no casualty in the fire.

The cause behind the fire and the extent of damage could not be said without proper investigation, he said.
