Khaleda Zia's health condition improves further

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's physical condition improved further as she is now at her son's house in London.

BNP Chairperson's personal physician Professor AZM Zahid Hossain today told reporters that her physical condition is stable at the moment.

He said, Madam is being treated at the home of her eldest son, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. Her daughter-in-law Dr. Zubaida Rahman, Syeda Shamila Rahman and three granddaughters are at home. 

Barrister Zaima Rahman (daughter of Tarique Rahman), Zahia Rahman and Zafia Rahman (daughters of late Arafat Rahman) are taking care of their grandmother, he said.

AZM Zahid Hossain also said that Begum Khaleda Zia is mentally much better than before. Doctors have visited her at home. Her physical condition is stable at this moment.

On January 8, Khaleda Zia was taken to London by an air ambulance for advanced treatment.

Professor Zahid said, Begum Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment under the supervision of 'The London Clinic' physicians in London since January 8. She is under the supervision of the doctors including Professor Patrick Kennedy, Professor Jennifer Cross and Dr. Barred."

Professor Zahid has sought prayers from all Bangladeshis for recovery of BNP Chairperson from the diseases. 

Upon the clearance from medical clearance from the physicians of the London Clinic Khaleda Zia went to her son's house.

79-year-old former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has been suffering from various physical ailments including liver cirrhosis, kidney, heart, diabetes, and arthritis for a long time.

Professor Zahid Hossain said, BNP chairperson will return home when doctors will advise her to go and Madam will feel better to come back to home.
