DHAKA, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today received allegations over killings of 848 people, including 524 leaders and activists of BNP in July-August mass uprising.

Mohammad Salauddin Khan, coordinator of BNP's litigation data collection cell, enforced disappearances and killings, filed the formal allegations at the ICT prosecution this morning.

"Our leaders, activists and supporters were brutally killed with an aim of destroying a political party like BNP. Of the victims, 524 were our leaders and activists and 324 were the relatives of our party men," said Mohammad Salauddin Khan.

The BNP leader hoped that the investigation agency of the ICT would probe the allegations and initiate further proceedings.

Earlier on January 9, BNP filed two separate complaints with the office of the ICT chief prosecutor over the killings of 2,276 people in so-called 'crossfire' and enforced disappearances of 153 leaders and activists of their party from 2008 to August 5, 2024.
