30th anniversary of Bangladesh Coast Guard tomorrow

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS) - The 30th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Coast Guard and 'Bangladesh Coast Guard Day-2025' will be observed in the country tomorrow in a befitting manner.

Marking the day, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus issued a message, extending greetings to all members of the coast guard.

In view of the importance of strengthening security in the blue economy and sovereign territorial waters of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Coast Guard was established in 1994 with the motto 'Guardian at Sea', said Dr Yunus in his message.

"On this auspicious occasion of its founding anniversary, I hope that every member of the Bangladesh Coast Guard will always fulfill their duties being inspired by the spirit of courageous sacrifice, patience and unity of the great Liberation War and the Student-People Mass Uprising of 2024," he added.

He believed that all levels of the Coast Guard will always be vigilant to brighten the image of this force by performing their duties with patriotism, sincerity, courage, unwavering trust and professionalism.

The Coast Guard is playing a leading role in providing security for the country's blue economy-centric activities side by side dealing with challenges of the 21st century in ensuring security in the vast maritime area of ??Bangladesh, the Chief Adviser said.

He hoped that all the efforts of the government will continue to update this force and it will increase further in the future.

He wished continued prosperity and success of the Bangladesh Coast Guard. 

"May all the programmes undertaken on the occasion of the 30th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Coast Guard and Coast Guard Day-2025 be successful," Dr Yunus added.
