DHAKA, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS)- Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana has said the government will take all out measures to strengthen the Bangladesh Betar as Betar plays significant role in connecting people.

“The government is firmly committed to strengthen Bangladesh Betar as Betar is very much close to the mass people and reaches to their door steps”, she said.

The information and broadcasting secretary said this while addressing a discussion and cultural function marking the World Radio Day-2025 at Bangladesh Betar Bhaban at Agargaon in the city.

Terming the Betar as one of the major source for gaining social, academic, religious and moral education of the people, the information and broadcasting secretary said due to this significant role the ‘World Radio Day’ has been announced on February 13 at the 36th conference of the UNESCO in 2011 and since then the day is being observed every year.

Betar is an essential partner of public life for its relentlessly efforts to disseminate information, entertainment and news.

Highlight the main theme of the day, she said the World Radio Day-2025 is dedicated to “Radio and Climate Change” to support radio stations in their journalistic coverage of this issue.
