New administrators appointed for two Dhaka city corporations

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS) – The government has appointed new administrators for the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

Mohammad Azaz, chairman of the River and Delta Research Centre, has been appointed as the DNCC administrator while Local Government Division (LGD) Additional Secretary Md Shahjahan Miah has been appointed administrator to DSCC.

The Local Government Division on Thursday issued a notification giving additional secretary Md Shahjahan Miah the responsibility of the DSCC administrator as additional charge to his main responsibility as the position was vacant since December last year.

Earlier on Wednesday, the LGD appointed Mohammad Azaz as the first administrator from private sector during this interim government's tenure. He has been appointed as a full-time administrator for a one-year term.

Both administrators will assume their respective responsibilities with immediate effect.
New DSCC administrator Md Shahjahan Miah is a Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) 15th batch cadre officer. He had served in different positions of the administration during his service period.
