Holy Shab-e-Barat observed

DHAKA, Feb 15, 2025 (BSS) - The holy Shab-e-Barat, the night of fortune, was observed throughout the country with due religious fervor and devotion last night.

On the occasion, the Islamic Foundation (IF) chalked out programs at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Friday.

Under the IF initiative, Waz (religious sermons), doa-mahfils, special prayers, recitation from the Holy Quran and Hamd-Naat were held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque last evening. 

Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain delivered an Islamic sermon at the Baitul Mukarram Mosque highlighting the significance of Shab-e-Barat.

Besides, religious sermons centering the Shab-e-Barat were delivered at various mosques after Maghrib prayers alongside holding special munajat after Esha prayers in the country.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday issued a message greeting all Muslims of the country and elsewhere across the world on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Barat.

A huge number of devotees visited the nearest graveyards and offered special doa and munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of their near and dear ones.

People also distributed money, food and sweets among the poor.
