DU 'Science Unit' admission test held

DHAKA, Feb 15, 2025 (BSS) - The admission test for the first-year undergraduate programme of the Science Faculty of Dhaka University (DU) for the academic year 2024-2025 was held today.

The admission test went on the DU campus as well as in seven other divisional cities across the country.

Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan along with Pro-VC (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-VC (Education) Prof Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Dean of the Science Faculty Professor Abdus Salam and Proctor Associate Prof Saifuddin Ahmed visited the examination center at the Curzon Hall.
 
The VC expressed satisfaction that the admission test was held in a peaceful manner. He also extended sincerely thanks to all the stakeholders for their cooperation in organizing the test in an orderly manner.

"A total 78 students are competing against each seat in the admission test of the Science Faculty. Due to the highly competitive nature of this exam, many will not get the opportunity to admit here," the VC said

He also urged the parents to be careful about their child as this test will help the students to prepare for other tests and to boost their self confidence. If they do not get the opportunity, be careful to them so that they do not suffer from metal trauma, he added.

A total of 1,46,811 students have applied against 1,896 seats in this unit. Out of the 1,896 seats, 1,820 seats have been allocated for the science background students, 25 for Business Studies students and 51 for the students of Humanities.
