CHATTOGRAM, Feb 16, 2025 (BSS) - A case has filed against former Education
Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel, former City Corporation Mayor Rezaul
Karim Chowdhury and 127 others for allegedly cutting the wrist veins of a van
driver.

The case was filed following the complaint lodged by the van driver Md Ilias
with city's Bakalia Thana against 127 people, including the former Education
Minister and the former mayor, on charges of assault, beating and attempt to
murder by the court order, Md Ikhtiar Uddin, officer in Charge of Baklia
Thana confirmed the matter.

Earlier, Md Ilias, son of Madan Mia hailed from Chaktai area filed a case
before the court of 6th Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam on
January 28 last.

After the hearing on February 6, Judge Mohammad Mustafa of the 4th
Metropolitan Magistrate's Court passed the order to the police station
concerned to accept the complaint as a complaint.
 
On August 4, during the anti-discrimination student movement, followers of
former Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel hacked and cut the
wrist veins of van driver Md Ilias, son of Madan Mia, of city's Chaktai area.
