Met office forecasts possible rain/thunder showers in some parts

DHAKA, Feb 17, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted that rain/thunder showers are likely to occur at one or two places over the country, while weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the next 24 hours from 9 am today.

"A Rain/thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Jessore and Kushtia, while weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country,” it said.

A trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over the South Bay.

Moderate to thick fog may occur over southern part of the country and light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country during late night to early morning.

Night and day temperature may rise by (1-2)°C over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 32.4 degrees Celsius at Jashore and the minimum temperature today was 12.0 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

The sun sets at 05:55 pm today and rises at 06:30 am tomorrow in the capital.
