Touhid seeks guaranteed energy supply from Oman

DHAKA, Feb 17, 2025 (BSS) – Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today urged Oman to ensure guaranteed energy supply to Bangladesh while seeking deeper cooperation in the energy sector with the middle eastern nation. 

He made the request when held a bilateral meeting with Omani foreign minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi on the sidelines of the 8th Indian Ocean Conference (IOC) in Muscat, a Bangladesh foreign ministry’s press release said here this evening. 

During the meeting, the foreign adviser also urged his Omani counterpart for recruiting Bangladeshi professionals like doctors, engineers, IT professionals and nurses. 
He specially requested to recruit world standard shipbuilding technicians from Bangladesh those could make immense contribution in the Oman shipbuilding industry.      
The two leaders expressed satisfaction over the excellent bilateral relations the two countries are enjoying. 

Both sides recalled that Bangladesh and Oman will soon complete the 50th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations and agreed to duly celebrate it. 
In this regard, foreign affairs adviser invited his Omani counterpart to visit Bangladesh to mark the celebration. 

Hossain thanked the Oman for hosting a large number Bangladeshi expatriates in its land who are contributing to both the economies.
