Munier Choudhury Drama Festival going on at Shilpakala

DHAKA, Feb 26, 2025 (BSS) – First Munier Choudhury National Drama Festival 2025 is going on at Shilpakala Academy here with participation of district level artistes performing popular dramas.

The eight-day multi-lingual festival began on February 21 and will end Friday next.

A total of 16 selected dramas are being performed by the artistes of eight divisions.
The festival is being held under the auspices of Training wing of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at Jatiya Nattya Shala.

Bogura District Shilpakala Academy staged the play 'Inqilab' written and directed by Tarek Tashhad while Moulvibazar District Shilpakala Academy staged Rabindranath Tagore’s play 'Balmiki Pratibha', directed by Noor-e-Nazneen this evening (Wednesday).

Habiganj District Shilpakala Academy will stage ‘Kabar Kimba Smshaner Golpo’ written and directed by Shaheen Rahman at 7pm tomorrow.

Barisal District Shilpakala Academy will follow the artistes of Habiganj with their play ‘Mayajal’ written and directed by Apurba Gomosta Wrik at 8pm.

The closing ceremony of the festival will be held on Friday evening.

On the closing day Khulna District Shilpakala artistes will stage 'Borabhoy' written and directed by Tanvir Nahid Khan at 7 pm.

Curtain of the eight-day festival will fall with staging of 'Chaingja Khrang (Fictional)' by the artistes of Bandarban District Shilpakala Academy at 8 pm.
