“Alongside the Eid joy procession, reminiscent of the Sultanate era, there will also be an Eid fair,” he told a press conference held at Nagar Bhaban of Dhaka South City Corporation following a preparatory meeting over the Eid-ul-Fitr congregation at the vacant space of the old trade fair ground in Agargaon.

Asif Mahmud, also Youth and Sports, said, “Let this Eid be celebrated in a new way, preserving Sultanate period traditions. It will be family-centered joy not individual. This Eid will be celebrated collectively.”

He called upon everyone to participate in this new collective Eid celebration which will be organized by the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

He mentioned plans to organize a cultural program after the Eid congregation to make the celebration more vibrant and joyful.

He said, “Although it is not possible to organize Eid joy rallies, fairs, and cultural programmes simultaneously across the country due to time constraints.”

“Such an Eid celebration will be organized simultaneously across the country in the future,” the adviser said.

Replying to a question, he said that the main Eid congregation will be held at the central Eidgah like every year.

In addition, another Eid congregation will be held under the supervision of the DNCC, along with other celebrations in a new format, he added.
