DHAKA, March 25, 2025 (BSS) - Like previous years, this year Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will be held on the Supreme Court premises if the weather remain favorable.

The National Eidgah ground, in front of the High Court, is being prepared for the main congregation of Holy Eid-ul-Fitr under the overall supervision of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Officials of DSCC said they will accommodate around 35,000-45,000 devotees on Eid day. Separate arrangements have been made for the women.
Visiting the ground, it was found that some day labourers were working on the Eidgah maidan to prepare for the main congregation.

It was seen that workers have engaged in preparing the main tent with bamboos and waterproof heavy duty poly tarps. Some workers are painting the pavement and marking the road inside the Supreme Court road network and making temporary drainage system.

Talking to BSS, Mohammad Ismail Hossain, Secretary (Deputy Secretary) of Islamic Foundation said the Eid will be celebrated on Monday or Tuesday, subject to the sighting of the moon.

"The main congregation will be held at 8:30am subject to normal weather," he said. Five Eid congregations will also be held at the national mosque Baitul Mubarrak, he added.

The law enforcement agencies are also working to ensure foolproof security at the site. To this end, CCTV cameras are being installed around the ground.
