Info adviser inaugurates website on July uprising

DHAKA, March 25, 2025 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam today inaugurated a website dedicated to the events of the July Uprising.

The website (inauguration.julyuprising.com), developed by the Press Information Department (PID), was inaugurated at PID in the Secretariat, according to a press release. 

Mahfuj Alam, in his speech, said that the events of the July Uprising published in the newspapers have been presented in a chronological order on this website. 

Expressing gratitude to PID officials, he said, "A precise concept about the role of the mass media during the uprising can be obtained from this website." 

In addition, he said, the website will also play an effective role in research activities. 

The adviser advised the relevant people to upload news of the martyrs and injured of the mass uprising, movement-related editorials and video content on the website.

Secretary of the ministry Mahbuba Farzana said that developing a website related to the events of the July Uprising is a groundbreaking initiative. Through this website, generations will be able to know the history of the July Uprising, she added. 

Principal Information Officer Md Nizamul Kabir presided over the function.

It is mentionable that information related to the mass uprising has been uploaded in four categories on this website. 

In the 'Scan Newspaper' category, complete scanned copies of newspapers during the mass uprising have been uploaded. The 'News Clipping' category contains clippings of news published in newspapers during the mass uprising. The 'Photo Album' category contains photography related to the movement published in newspapers and collected from various sources. In addition, complete scanned copies of divisional and district level newspapers have been uploaded in the 'Regional Newspaper' category.
