ISLAMABAD, March 25, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Embassy in Islamabad today observed the Genocide Day-2025 with due solemnity.

All officials and staff of the embassy were present during the event. On the occasion, they wore black badge at the beginning of the day, according to a press release.

Marking the day, a discussion was held at the mission. Ambassador Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan was key speaker at the event.

The proceedings commenced with the observance of a minute of silence in remembrance of 3 million martyrs who sacrificed their lives during Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971. Later, a message given by the Chief Advisor was read out marking the day.

Iqbal Hussain, in his speech, paid rich tributes to the greatest sons of the soil who embraced martyrdom at the night of March 25.

He emphasized upholding the rights of the people by maintain the democratic process.

After the end of the discussion meeting, a special Doa Mahfil was held for the forgiveness of the souls of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives against injustice on the night of March 25, 1971 and in the July uprising.
