BRTA conducts mobile court in city to reduce sufferings

DHAKA, March 26, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has been operating mobile courts in different city terminals to reduce suffering of the passengers on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

As part of the operation, BRTA executive magistrate, first visited different long route bus counters at Gabtoli and Mohakhali bus terminals but found no allegation of taking extra fares. The magistrate also found exact fare charts at all bus counters of those terminals.

The Executive Magistrate later conducted a drive at Nilachal Paribahan counter at Sayedabad bus terminal and fined Taka 3,000 as they were taking extra Taka 100 from the Ramgati-Lakshmipur bound passengers.

The magistrate later fined Taka 4,000 to Gaibandha-bound New Safa Paribahan at Kamarpara for taking extra fare, D-Link and Nilachal Paribahan at Mirpur for not showing the fare chart at their counters.

The magistrate also fined Taka 6,000 to Dola Paribahan, Golden Line and Emad Paribahan at Fulbaria bus terminal as no fare chart was found in the counters.
