Bangladesh mission in Mexico observes Independence Day

DHAKA, Mar 27, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Embassy in Mexico observed the Independence Day and the National Day with due solemnity yesterday.

To mark the day, Bangladesh mission in Mexico held a discussion at the embassy's auditorium, according to a message received here today.
 
The day-long programme began with hoisting of the national flag at the embassy premises by Ambassador Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey.

Bangladeshi community members and expatriates living in Mexico attended the events.

The programme paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War and mass uprising in July-August 2024, recounting their sacrifices.

Addressing the discussion, Ambassador Ansarey Bangladesh achieved independence through sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of lives.

He added that the 2024 July Uprising ignited fresh hope among people.

Messages from the President, the Chief Adviser, and the Foreign Affairs Adviser were read out at the discussion. Besides, a documentary on the July Uprising was screened.

The event concluded with special prayers for the country's peace and prosperity, followed by an iftar ceremony hosted in honor of the invited guests.
