Udichi arranges 'Folk-music festival' tomorrow

DHAKA, April 12, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi, will arrange a "Folk-music festival 
(Loko Ganer Asor)" tomorrow in Satyen Sen Chattar in front of National Press 
club of the capital to mark the 'Chaitra Sankranti', an age-old festival of 
rural Bangla which marks the last day of a Bangla year.

This year's theme of the day is "Vule jai dondho, kete jak vranti, Shuvo 
barta anuk Chaitra Sankranti".

A press release signed by Amit Ranjan Dey, general secretary of the 
organisation, said the information here today. 

Artists of Udichi Shilpigoshthi including central, Dhaka Mohanogor and its 
different bodies will perform various genres of folk music in the programme. 
Songs, recitation and dances will also be performed in the event, the release 
added. 

However, Chhayanaut, an institution devoted to Bengali culture, will organise 
"Morning arrangement (Provati Ayojan)" with the assistance of Udichi 
Shilpigoshthi to mark the day.
