DHAKA, May 7, 2025 (BSS) – BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today extended thanks and congratulations to people including party leaders and workers for thronging Dhaka streets in thousands to welcome party chief and three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
In a press release issued here, he also extended gratitude and thanks to members of security forces for ensuring required security.
Begum Zia returned home from London Tuesday morning in a special air ambulance provided by Qatar’s Emir after receiving treatment at the prestigious London Clinic under the supervision of expert physicians.
From the airport, she directly went to her Feroza residence in Gulshan along with her two daughters-in-law Dr Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Shamila Rahman.
A massive number of jubilant crowd including party leaders and workers from different parts of the country stood either side of the streets stretching from airport to Begum Zia’s residence holding photographs, national and party flags to welcome her.
