Farida for reaching innovations to doorsteps of villagers

DHAKA, May 07, 2025 (BSS) - Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter today underscored the importance of reaching the innovations to the doorsteps of villagers to get benefits from those.

"If the future generations become aware about fisheries and livestock, the country will move forward. For the development of the country, innovative ideas should be collected from the field level," she said while speaking as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the 'Innovation Showcase 2025' organised by the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock at its conference room in the city, said a press release. 

Farida urged all departments under the ministry to provide more innovative ideas in the future.

She said that the idea of preserving rice with water to prevent rice from rotting easily came from women's heads. 

The idea that rotting fish can be made edible through lemon leaves also comes from the head of the women, she added. 

Therefore, he called for increasing the participation of women in innovation activities.

Among others, Secretary (Routine Duties) of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Md Tofajzel Hossain and Additional Secretary and Chief Innovation Officer of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Md Imam Uddin Kabir delivered speeches on the occasion.
