DHAKA, May 07, 2025 (BSS) - One additional inspector general of police (Addl-IGP), three acting Addl-IGPs and two deputy inspectors general (DIGs) were transferred to new postings today.

The home ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard signed by Deputy Secretary Mahbubur Rahman.

According to the notification, Additional IGP of Police Headquarters Md Towfiq Mahbub Chowdhury was transferred to Sarda Police Academy as Principal (Addl-IGP) while Addl-IGP (Current Charge) of Industrial Police Md Sibgat Ullah to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the same position.

It said DIG of Dhaka Range AKM Awlad Hossain has been transferred to Police Telecom as Addl-IGP (Current Charge) and DIG of CID Gazi Jashim Uddin to Industrial Police as Addl-IGP (Current Charge).

The notification further said Additional Commissioner (DIG) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has been transferred to Dhaka Range as DIG, while DIG of Police Headquarters Dr Shoeb Riaz Alam, who was under transfer order to Sarda Police Academy, to Special Security and Protection Battalion (SPBn) as DIG.
