RANGPUR, May 27, 2025 (BSS) - The two-day upazila-level Science and Technology Week and Science Fair-2025 kicked off here on Monday with a call to assist young students in becoming the best scientists of the future.
The district administration organized the event under supervision of the National Science and Technology Museum and with the patronage of the Science and Technology Ministry marking the 46th National Science and Technology Week and Science Fair.
Students of 18 secondary level educational institutions from all over the district have set up their stalls projecting diverse scientific projects, research activities and innovations and ICT-based technologies.
The fair was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal as the chief guest at a function held at the fair premises of Rangpur Zilla School ground by releasing balloons.
Officials from the district administration, various departments, teachers, students and well-wishers from various educational institutions were present at the event.
The Deputy Commissioner said that in the current era of information technology, science and technology fairs play an important role in developing students' knowledge and creativity.
"Through such fairs, students can express their innovative thoughts and work. If they are properly evaluated and encouraged, they will one day become the best scientists in the country," he said.
He hoped that the fair would increase the interest in science among students and would play a big role in future development.
For this, he urged the students to continue their science practice along with their studies.
The Deputy Commissioner also expressed happiness observing the huge interest of the participating young students in the fair in science and technology-based modern education and technical innovation they projected in the event.
At the fair, secondary and higher secondary students from eight upazilas of Rangpur district participated in senior and junior groups and displayed their innovative projects.
The projects displayed by the students at the fair premises include eco-friendly technology, robotics, renewable energy, disaster management and alarming systems, innovative traffic management and artificial intelligence-related innovations.
