Work with sincerity to ensure safe Eid celebrations: IGP

DHAKA, May 27, 2025 (BSS) – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam has asked the police personnel at the field level to work with utmost sincerity as the countrymen can celebrate the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha in a festive and peaceful manner. 
   

“Work with earnestness to ensure celebration of the Eid-ul-Azha across the country amidst festivity,” he said while presiding over a virtual meeting with all metropolitan police commissioners, Deputy Inspector Generals of all ranges and district Superintendents of Police from the Police Headquarters this morning on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.


The police chief stressed the need for collective efforts from metropolitan police, district police, highway police, railway police, tourist police, river police and specialized units of the police for better outcome of the police efforts to uphold the  law and order. 


He has instructed to work for ensuring uninterrupted transportation of the cattle by making sure that the animals from one market should not be forcibly taken to another market and stopping set up cattle markets along highways.

The IGP called for constant vigilance to stop circulating counterfeit currencies, robbery and extortion in the cattle markets alongside markets and shopping malls to ensure proper security.


Additional IGP Md. Matiur Rahman Sheikh, Additional IGP of Special Branch Md. Golam Rasul, Additional IGP (Crime and Operations) Khondaker Rafiqul Islam, DIG (Operations) Md. Rezaul Karim, DIG (Confidential) Md. Kamrul Ahsan and concerned officers were present at the meeting.
