Digital survey on 305 mouzas of Dhaka region soon

DHAKA, May 27, 2025 (BSS) - Land Record and Survey Department under the ministry of land is going to conduct a digital survey on 305 mouzas under Dhaka region soon, official sources said here today.

Mohammad Kamrul Arif, Director of the department told BSS that they will start the digital survey in some specific mouzas within few months and they have already received necessary administrative approval from the land ministry.

Meanwhile, Additional Secretary of the land ministry Saima Yunus told BSS that the land related forgery and corruptions would be stopped if the land survey related modern planning is implemented. Through this digital survey, the real owners would be able to assert their ownership easily and many problems related to land would be reduced, she said.

Of the selected 305 mouzas, 131 are in Rupganj and 174 are in Araihajar upazilas of Narayanganj district. 

The land ministry has taken the initiative so that the land owners can get their Khatians and porcha staying at their homes, the ministry officials said, adding that they could fulfill their land related necessities through mobile phone.

The Bangladesh Digital Survey (BDS) under the Establishment of Digital Land Management System Project is on progress in Chattogra, Narayanganj, Rajshahi City Corporation, Manikganj and Dhamrai Pourashava and Kushtia sadar upazila with Korean assistance. The digital survey system would be implemented across the country soon through taking necessary outputs from the first phase of survey, said the ministry sources.

The land owners from now can apply for their Khatians and mouza maps by calling 16122 and they can pay their land mutation fees and land development taxes through online, they said, adding that they can collect all their land related documents by postal service also.

Besides, the misuse of power by the land related government officers would be reduced drastically after the implementation of digital survey system, they said, adding that disbursement of e-porcha, e-registration, collection of land related taxes and virtual hearing system would be introduced after the implementation of the project.
