One arrested with 55-kg ganja from Rangpur

RANGPUR, July 11, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a suspected drug dealer with 55 kg of ganja from the Mirbag Bazar area of Kawnia police station in Rangpur district on Thursday afternoon.
 
On a tip off, an operational team of RAB-13 set up a check post on the road there, searched a covered van, seized a huge quantity of smuggled ganja and the vehicle and arrested the man from the spot at 3:10 pm, a press release said today.
 
The detainee was identified as Md Shamim Mia, 29, son of Md Munsur Ali of village Sadhu under Kawnia police station of Rangpur district.

The elite force handed over the arrested person along with the seized ganja and vehicle to Kawnia police station in Rangpur for further legal action, the release said.
