PIROJPUR, July 13, 2025(BSS) - Convener of National Citizens Party (NCP) Nahid Islam today categorically said that there would be no election in the country without reforms.

“The people of the country came to the street due to limitless torture and harassment perpetrated by Sheikh Hasina and later they ousted the fascist Hasina’s government through July-August mass upsurge,” he said.

Nahis Islam made this remarks while addressing a street rally at local Shaheed Minar on the 13th day of July March. The NCP Pirojpur district unit organized the rally.

Earlier, the leaders and workers of the NCP started the July March from Pirojpur Circuit House and addressed the rally after reaching at the Shaheed Minar premises.

Nahid Islam said that autocrat Sheikh Hasina was in power forcibly for 16 years when her government tortured and harassed people in many ways.

“They did all sorts of misdeeds including murder, enforced disappearance, torture, corruption and looting of votes when Sheikh Hasina’s fascist government was in power…The people of the country were deprived from their voting rights in the last three consecutive national elections,” he said.

Among others, NCP Member Secretary Akhter Hossain, Senior Joint Convener Shamanta Sharmin, Principal Organizer (Northern Zone) Sarjis Alam, Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr Tasnim Jara and other central leaders were present at that time.
