JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Aug 4, 2025 (BSS) - Several automation tools, including Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) security gates, have been installed at Jahangirnagar University's (JU) central library to facilitate student access to knowledge and ensure book security.

The tools were formally inaugurated at a ceremony titled 'July Chronicle: Silent Reminiscence in Frame and a New Journey in JU Library Modernization' held today at 11 am by JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan, said a press release.

"These automation tools aim to ease students' pursuit of knowledge and enhance book safety in the library," said the Vice-Chancellor. "With the introduction of RFID and UHF security gates, book searching and issue kiosks, and return drop boxes, the process of entering the library, locating books, issuing, and returning them has become significantly easier."
