Model Mosque to promote communal harmony: Religious Adviser

BRAHMANBARIA, Aug 11, 2025 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser A.F.M. Khalid Hossain today said the newly built Brahmanbaria District Model Mosque will play a vital role in fostering harmony and communal amity across the district.

"This mosque will serve multiple purposes, including separate prayer arrangements for men, women, and persons with disabilities. We hope the message of friendship and communal harmony will reach every corner of Brahmanbaria through this model mosque," he told journalists after visiting the mosque this afternoon.

The model mosque has been constructed at a cost of Tk 15 crore.
The adviser also said that no major construction errors have been detected in the 10 model mosques built in Brahmanbaria. "There are some small defects, which are being addressed by summoning the contractors and engineers," the adviser added.

Brahmanbaria Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Didarul Alam, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Saad Mohammad Andalib, Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation Md. Shah Alam, Hefazat-e-Islam Secretary General Sajidur Rahman, and district Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Mobarak Hossain Akand, among others, were present during the visit.

Earlier, on Sunday evening, the adviser attended a discussion titled "Role of Islamic Scholars in Nation Building" as the chief guest at Darul Arqam Al Islamia Madrasa in Medda municipal area.
