Tenure of National Consensus Commission extended till Sept 15

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2025 (BSS) - The government has extended the tenure of the National Consensus Commission until September 15, with immediate effect.

In this regard, a gazette notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Dr Sheikh Abdur Rashid was issued today.

The tenure of the National Consensus Commission, formed through gazette SRO No-55 Act, 2025 issued on February 12, has been extended, the notification said.

Professor Dr Ali Riaz, head of the Constitution Reform Commission, is serving as the vice-president of the commission. 

Other members include Dr M Aiyub Mia, member of the Public Administration Reform Commission, Safar Raj Hossain, head of the Police Administration Reform Commission, Badiul Alam Majumder, head of the Election System Reform Commission, Justice Emdadul Huq, head of the Judiciary Reform Commission and Dr Iftekharuzzaman, head of the Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commission.

The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry is providing secretarial support to the commission.
