DHAKA, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - The Department of Nuclear Engineering at Dhaka University (DU) today organized a freshers' reception and farewell ceremony at the Kazi Motahar Hossain Bhaban auditorium.

The event welcomed first-year undergraduate students while bidding farewell to outgoing postgraduate students.

DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed attended the ceremony as chief guest and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Dr. Upama Kabir was present as special guest. 

The function was presided over by the department's chairman, Professor Dr. Animesh Pal.

In his speech, Pro-VC Dr. Mamun Ahmed highlighted that Dhaka University serves as both an academic and social institution, offering equal opportunities for all. 

He urged students to make the most of these opportunities to enrich themselves with knowledge, skills and human values.

"The DU administration will extend all-out support to help students grow into confident and capable graduates," he added.
