DHAKA, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladeshi film Betar (Radio) has been officially selected for the West Meets East Screenplay Lab-2026. The lab, which will take place in January 2026, will feature a total of ten international projects.

Among them, three projects are from Bangladesh, while seven come from other Asian countries. All ten selected screenplays will further be developed during the Dhaka International Film Festival 2026, said a press release.

From Bangladesh, the selected projects are Betar by Ahsan Shoron, Jol Chhobi: The Drop Hope by Ashiqur Rahman, and Mangsho Kom by Raka Noshin Nower. Notably, Raka’s Mangsho Kom has already received the National Film Grant from the Bangladesh government.

Producer of Betar, Emon Bin Anwar, said that the film is currently in the development stage. He added that participation in the lab could open new opportunities for international co-production, funding, and distribution for these films.
