DU VC mourns death of student Nafis

DHAKA, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan today expressed deep grief over the death of Nafis Khandaker, a Nuclear Engineering student under the 2024-25 academic session of the university.

Nafis, son of Golam Mawla and Yasmin Begum, passed away at 4:45 pm while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city. He hailed from Rupnagar village under the Galachipa upazila of Patuakhali district.

In a condolence message, the DU Vice Chancellor said that the country has lost a young man with immense potential. Such a death is very sad and painful for a family and the nation. 

He prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members.
