DU forms 2 committees to promote ethical and human values

DHAKA, November 2, 2025 (BSS)- Dhaka University (DU) authorities have formed two separate committees to promote ethical and humanitarian values among students.

The committees were formed following a decision made at a syndicate meeting aimed at addressing concerns over the decline of moral and human values in society. 

The first joint meeting of the committees was held today with DU Pro-VC prof. Mamun Ahmed in the chair at his office. 
 
Chairman of the Philosophy Department Prof. Md. Nuruzzaman, Director of the Center for Moral Development Prof. A.K.M. Yunus, Prof. Shah Kawser Mustafa Abul-Ulai, Prof. Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Prof. Shakila Yasmin, Dr. Khorshed Alam and Lecturer Mir Muhammad Abdullah Al Mamun Ali were present.

The meeting discussed plans to introduce a new course titled ‘Ethics and Human Values Education’ for first-year undergraduate students across all departments and institutes beginning in the 2025–2026 academic session. 

It also chalked out a plan to organize a two-day workshop on ‘Ethics and Human Values Education’ for master’s students during the same session.
