NLASO disposes of 1, 67,565 cases through ADR

DHAKA, Nov 03, 2025 (BSS) - The National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) has disposed of a total of 1, 67,565 cases through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) from 2009 to September 2025 across the country.

In a report of the NLASO, an organisation under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, it was stated that during this period, initiatives were taken for a total of 187,986 cases under ADR. Among them, the cases of 324,361 beneficiaries have been resolved.

According to the report, during the same period, a total of 1,303,643 people received legal assistance at government expense. The beneficiaries included people from the Supreme Court’s High Court and Appellate Divisions, all lower courts and labour courts across the country, as well as indigent prisoners in jails.

Legal assistance is provided at government expense under the Legal Aid Act to support financially insolvent and underprivileged litigants in the country. The National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) operates this programme under the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
