KU Medical Centre begins new journey with modern facilities

KHULNA, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Khulna University Medical Centre (KUMC) 
began a new chapter today with the inauguration of four modern healthcare 
units aimed at ensuring improved medical services for students.

The newly added units are an Eye Unit, Dental X-ray Unit, Digital X-ray Unit, 
and Dressing and Sterilization Unit (Mini OT).

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim inaugurated the new facilities 
as the chief guest at a ceremony held at the medical centre this morning.

After cutting the ribbon, he visited the newly installed units and later 
attended a discussion meeting.

Vice-Chancellor said the addition of the four modern units has elevated the 
standard of the university's healthcare services. 

He noted that the Mini OT will help modernize primary healthcare delivery, 
while the Eye Unit already has a specialist physician in service.

He urged doctors and nurses to be more sincere and responsive to students' 
medical needs, ensure prompt treatment, and maintain a steady supply of 
essential medicines.

The event was addressed, among others, by Professor Dr Md Ashraful Alam, Dean 
of Science, Engineering and Technology School, Professor Dr Md Golam Hossain, 
Dean of Life Science School, Professor Dr Rumana Haque, Dean of Management 
and Business Administration School, Professor Dr Md Nazmus Sadat, Director of 
Student Affairs, Professor Sharif Mohammad Khan. Chief Medical Officer Dr 
Kaniz Fahmida chaired the event.
