4 get professional recognition as educational, counselling psychologists

DHAKA, Nov 14, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Educational and Counselling Psychology Society (BECPS) today recognized four psychologists as full professional psychologists for completing MS and MPhil degrees in educational and counselling psychology.

At the annual general meeting of BECPS, held at Dhaka University this afternoon, Mostak Ahmed Imran was recognised as an educational psychologist, while Sadeka Banu, Raufun Nahar and Mariam Sultana were named as counselling psychologists.

BECPS President Prof Shaheen Islam presided over the meeting.

BECPS president said the new recognitions raise the number of educational and counselling psychologists to 12 each.
 
More than 150 psychologists attended the meeting.

The session announced a 15-member executive committee for 2025–27 with Prof. Dr Mehzabeen Haque as president and Dr Md Azharul Islam as general secretary.

All of the newly recognized psychologists are the students of the Dhaka University.
