
DHAKA, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) -The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,176 cases for traffic law violations across the capital over the last two days, as part of an ongoing campaign to enforce road discipline.
According to a press release of DMP, the cases were recorded across several key zones of the city between Thursday and Friday.
In the Traffic-Motijheel division officials lodged 275 cases, including those involving 14 buses, 11 trucks, 21 covered vans, 79 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 268 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Wari division reported 207 cases, while Traffic-Tejgaon registered 226 cases and Traffic-Mirpur filed 265 cases.
On the northern side of the city, the Traffic-Gulshan division recorded 310 cases, and the Traffic-Uttara division filed 280 cases against violators.
Meanwhile, the Traffic-Ramna division lodged 187 cases, and Traffic-Lalbagh recorded 245 cases during the drive.
In addition to case filings, enforcement teams dumped 499 vehicles and wrecked 141 vehicles for various violations, DMP sources confirmed.
The DMP said its traffic division will continue similar operations in the coming days to strengthen road safety and maintain discipline across Dhaka’s busy thoroughfares.
