KHULNA, Nov 25, 2025 (BSS) – Khulna University celebrated University Day today in a colorful and festive atmosphere, marking 34 years of academic progress as it steps into its 35th year.

A grand procession began at the main gate and concluded at Adommo Bangla Square, led by the university’s founding Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Golam Rahman. Teachers, students, officials, distinguished citizens, journalists, and members of civil society took part in the event.

Following the inauguration of the day with the release of pigeons, balloons, and festoons, a discussion meeting was held at Liakat Ali Auditorium, where speakers highlighted that Khulna University is the result of the long-standing efforts of the people of the southwest region.

They also praised the achievements of its graduates in the country and abroad and highlighted several positive initiatives, including the introduction of a Collaborative Research Grant Program and Teaching Assistantships to improve education and research standards.

Commemorative publications were unveiled, and outstanding students, organizations, and university teachers serving in high positions at other universities were honored, marking the day.

Special prayers and a cultural program were also held, while the campus was illuminated with decorative lighting for the occasion.
