
KHULNA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) - The first-year admission test for the 2025–2026 academic session of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) for BSc Engineering, BURP and B.Archprogrammes was held smoothly and peacefully on Thursday (today).
The written examination took place from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, while the freehand drawing test for the B.Archprogramme was conducted from 12.45 pm to 1.45 pm.
The admission test was held simultaneously at two centres -- KUET and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Of the total 11,713 candidates, 10,465 appeared in the examination, registering an attendance rate of 89.35 percent.
During the examination, Vice-Chancellor of KUET Professor Dr Md Maksud Helali visited different examination halls.
Under the 2025–2026 academic sessions, KUET will admit a total of 1,065 students in 16 departments under three faculties.
The intake includes 120 seats each in Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE); 60 seats each in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM), Leather Engineering (LE), Textile Engineering (TE), Urban and Regional Planning (URP), Building Engineering and Construction Management (BECM) and Materials Science and Engineering (MSE); 40 seats in Architecture (Arch); 30 seats each in Biomedical Engineering (BME), Energy Science and Engineering (ESE), Chemical Engineering (ChE) and Mechatronics Engineering (MTE); along with five reserved seats for small ethnic communities and residents of the hill districts of Chattogram division.
The merit list, instructions for subject choice, admission rules and admission schedule will be published on February 1, 2026.
