Traffic rules violation, DMP files 2,276 cases

DHAKA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) – The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 2,276 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in the capital during the last 24 hours.

The DMP has been conducting campaign against traffic violations in the city aimed at bring traffic system under proper management, according to DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division statement.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman issued the statement here today.

It said that 119 motor vehicles were dumped and 364 vehicles were wrecked during the campaign against traffic rules violation during the traffic campaign against traffic rules violators on January 14.

The DMP release said that several traffic divisions conducted the campaign against traffic violators in the capital.

It, further said that traffic Ramna division filed 112 cases, Lalbagh division registered 132 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 268 cases, Wari division registered 378 cases, Tejgaon division filed 211 cases, Mirpur division filed 715 cases, Gulshan division filed 242 cases and Uttara division registered 211 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles, it said.

The DMP traffic division has been working to bring traffic system under discipline on Dhaka's streets and ensure smooth for easy movement.
