ACC sues Shamim Osman's children for not filing wealth statements

DHAKA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today filed two cases against two children of former Member of Parliament (MP) from Narayanganj-4 constituency AKM Shamim Osman for failing to submit their wealth statements within the stipulated time.

ACC Director General Md Akhtar Hossain disclosed the information to the journalists during its regular media briefing held at the commission headquarters here.

According to the ACC, separate notices were issued on August 26 last year to Shamim Osman's two children Imtinan Osman and Labiba Joha Angana to submit their wealth statements within a specified timeframe. However, they neither applied for an extension of time nor submitted the wealth statements within the stipulated time.

As a result, the ACC filed two separate cases against Imtinan Osman and Labiba Joha Angana under section 26(2) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004.
