RAJSHAHI, Jan 16, 2026 (BSS)- A three-day admission test for first-year honors classes in the 2025-2026 academic session of Rajshahi University (RU) began today (Friday) amid massive preparations.
The admission of the C unit began in two shifts on this day.
This year, 2,72,626 students will appear in the test for 4,017 seats in 59 Departments under 10 faculties and two institutes.
On an average, 67 students are vying for each seat.
The entry tests are being held in A, B and C units from today.
RU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Saleh Hasan Naqib accompanied by Pro-VCs Prof Mayeen Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan visited different rooms of the test today.
A total of 1,18,962 students appeared in the C unit test with 26 Departments belonging to the science, agriculture, engineering, bioscience, and geosciences faculties.
Besides, 1,15,515 students will appear in the test under the A unit consisting of 27 departments belonging to arts, law, social science, and fine art faculties and the Institute of Education and Research, followed by 30,886 students in the B unit consisting of six departments belonging to Business Studies Faculty and the Institute of Business Administration.
VC Saleh Hassan Naquib said the admission test for the C unit was held today, while Saturday has been fixed for A unit. Another 'B' unit test will be held on January 24 from 11am to 12 noon. .
He said they are taking the tests using the MCQ method, and no one is allowed to go outside of the examination halls during the 60-minute examination.
None of the admission-seekers can keep mobile phones, calculators, and other electronic devices with memory cards.
The VC categorically said they are very sincere and positive about holding the tests successfully and adequately as they have close coordination with local civil and police administration.
The test is also being held in Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rangpur and Barishal apart from RU for the convenience of the students and the guardians.
