
RAJSHAHI, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS)- The first-year undergraduate admission test for
the 2025-2026 academic session at Rajshahi University of Engineering and
Technology (RUET) will be held tomorrow (Thursday).
A total of 18,277 applicants will take part in the examination against 1,235
seats across 14 departments.
For the convenience of candidates, the examination will be held not only at
RUET but, for the first time, also at Bangladesh University of Engineering
and Technology (BUET).
The roll numbers, examination centers, and seat allocation lists have been
published on the university's designated website, which candidates have
already collected.
Out of the 18,277 candidates, 8,477 will sit for the examination at the RUET
center, while the remaining 9,800 candidates will take the test at the BUET
center, said Professor Nurul Islam, chairman of the First-Year Admission Test
Committee.
This year, admission tests for 14 departments will be conducted under two
groups-- Group A and Group B.
Under Group A, 8,477 candidates at the RUET center and 9,800 candidates at
the BUET center will sit for the examination simultaneously on January 22
from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon.
On the same day (January 22), 670 candidates under Group B will take the
examination at RUET from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm.
He further stated that candidates must carry their original Higher Secondary
registration card, admission test admit card, and, in the case of candidates
under the small ethnic minority quota, an attested photocopy of the
certificate issued by the community head.
During the examination, no electronic devices other than calculators approved
by the admission committee, nor any type of bag, will be allowed.
RUET Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof SM Abdur Razzak said that RUET continues to
play an important role in producing skilled manpower for the country to meet
future global challenges, and maintaining this continuity makes the admission
test extremely important.
All preparations have already been completed to ensure the smooth conduct of
the upcoming examination.
He added that all necessary measures have been taken to prevent any form of
fraud, and with the support of law enforcement agencies, the RUET
administration has placed all suspicious activities and objects, including
those on various social media platforms, under intelligence surveillance.
