BNP candidate Israt Sultana wins Jhalakathi-2

JHALAKATHI, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - BNP candidate Israt Sultana Elen Bhutto has been elected unofficially from Jhalakathi-2 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election.

She secured 1, 13,419 votes while his nearest rival Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami-nominated candidate S M Nayeamul Karim received 70,556 votes.

In the referendum, 1,47,297 voters cast 'Yes' votes while 53,920 others cast 'No' votes in this constituency.

The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in capital's Agargaon area today.
