Agro products to be exported industrial scale in next one year: Agri Minister

DHAKA, Feb 19, 2026 (BSS) - Fisheries and Livestock, Agriculture and Food Minister Mohammad Amin-ur Rashid today said the farm products will be exported on an industrial scale in next one year. 

The Agriculture Minister said this while exchanging greetings with the ministry's senior officials at its conference room here.

Terming the agriculture as the backbone of the economy, the minister said the largest number of people of the country is now being involved with the sector, adding that the agriculture sector should be reorganized through proper planning.

The agriculture sector should get preference to strengthen the country's economy. 

The minister said the government is planning to increase the export of agricultural commodities alongside reducing the import of agro commodities within the next one year.

The minister sought cooperation from all aiming to take forward the agriculture of the country.

During the greetings exchange programme, the newly appointed state minister for agriculture, food, fisheries and livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku said the agriculture is one of the most important sectors and all the people related to the sector should to work with honesty and dedication.

Senior agricultural ministry officials including Agriculture Secretary Dr Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian were also present during this time.

Earlier, the newly appointed minister and state minister were offered floral greetings on behalf of the agriculture ministry.
