DHAKA, March 6, 2026 (BSS) - The Ministry of Local Government, Rural 
Development and Cooperatives has warned the public about phone scams in which 
callers claim to be the State Minister or his relatives.

Calls from 01826095318 reportedly promise personal or administrative favors 
to government officials, public representatives, and citizens, an official 
release said.

The ministry stressed that neither the State Minister nor his office makes 
such calls, and such acts are fraudulent and legally punishable. A General 
Diary (GD) report has already been filed with the police, and necessary legal 
actions are underway.

The public is urged not to fall for these calls and to report any such 
incidents immediately to the nearest law enforcement authorities.
