Annual Azan, Qirat, Essay competition of Bangladesh Police held

DHAKA, March 6, 2026 (BSS) - The prize distribution ceremony of the Bangladesh Police Annual Azan, Qirat and Essay Competition-2026 was held today at the Bangladesh Police Central Jame Mosque at Rajarbagh Police Lines here.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir attended the event as the chief guest after Jumma prayers.

Addressing the ceremony, the police chief said police members should develop morality and good conduct in their lives by nurturing religious principles. "Islam is a religion of peace and the police force works to maintain peace and order in society," he added.

He called upon the police members to serve people through ensuring legal protection, justice and good conduct.

Later, the IGP distributed crests, certificates and prizes among the winners of different categories.

Police Staff College Bangladesh Rector (Additional IGP) Kazi Md Fazlul Karim presided over the function, which was attended by senior police officers and a large number of devotees.

In the Azan competition, Constable Md Monirul Islam of Chattogram district secured the first place, Nayek Abu Musa of 3 APBN came second and ASI Md Omar Faruk of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) finished third.

In the Qirat competition, Linen Keeper Md Abdul Awal of Central Police Hospital, Rajarbagh secured the first position, while Nayek Abu Musa of 3 APBN became second and Constable Ariful Islam of Mymensingh Range Office took the third place.

Female Constable Nadia Nasrin Nupur of 11 APBN secured the first position in the Hamd and Naath competition, while Nayek Md Rakibul Islam of Chapainawabganj district came second and Constable SM Mashiur Rahman of Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) finished third.

In the essay competition titled "Islam to Stop Civilian Harassment," Constable Junaid Bin Mortuz of Habiganj district secured the first place, Constable AM Md Umar Faruk Bayezid of 4 APBN came second and female Constable Smotara Khatun of RRF, Rangpur finished third.

Members from various police units participated in the competitions and secured positions in the final round by showcasing their talents.
