DHAKA, March 7, 2026 (BSS) – State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. M A Muhit today visited the Karail slum in the capital to oversee healthcare initiatives aimed at delivering medical services to the neglected and underprivileged communities.

During the visit, he inspected various healthcare and specialized training activities conducted by Child Sight Foundation (CSF) Global and Alo Clinic in the slum area.

On the onset of the visit, the state minister inspected the modern and digital healthcare center ‘Alo Clinic’, established in Karail slum to serve underprivileged people.

He expressed satisfaction after observing the technology-based treatment system there.

Praising the clinic’s digital database, patient registration process and paperless prescription system, he said,“Such modern and digital services for slum dwellers are truly exemplary.”

During the visit, the state minister also observed the digital system used for storing medical test reports and patients’ medical histories.

The state minister later also visited a special training programme for children with disabilities run by the NGO CSF Global.

Upon inspection, Dr. Muhit said, “Disability is not a problem. the real problem is the barriers which our society creates at every step. There are many challenges in bringing persons with disabilities into the mainstream of society. We must remove these obstacles collectively.”

Emphasizing the need for facilitating the intellectual development of children with disabilities, the state minister said, “We must bring our special children from darkness to the path of light through coordinated efforts to build an inclusive society.”
