DHAKA, March 12, 2026 (BSS) – Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad Md. Nurul Islam today congratulated the newly appointed Speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram, with a bouquet after his oath-taking ceremony at the parliament.

He also extended floral greetings to the newly appointed Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal.

Earlier today (Thursday), the newly elected Speaker of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram, MP (Bhola-2) and Deputy Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal, MP (Netrakona-1) took oath before President Mohammed Shahabuddin.

The President administered the oath to the new Speaker and Deputy Speaker in accordance with the third schedule under article 148 of the constitution. 

With the oath-taking, the newly elected Speaker and Deputy Speaker formally assumed their responsibilities.
